Thermal exhaust air purification systems in
Industrial scale
Thermal afterburning
Thermal afterburners (THR) are used for the reliable cleaning of contaminated exhaust air. In this process, organic components of a gas flow are completely oxidized and converted into harmless reaction products such as carbon dioxide (CO₂) and water vapor.
The reaction takes place in a specially designed reaction chamber – the combustion chamber. Several process parameters are crucial for complete and safe oxidation:
Good mixing of the exhaust air volume flow
Sufficient oxygen content in the combustion chamber
Uniform temperature distribution
Sufficiently dimensioned residence time of the process gases
Thermal afterburners are particularly useful when the composition of the exhaust air fluctuates significantly or is not precisely known. In such cases, TNV offers a robust and reliable solution for treating organically contaminated exhaust air streams.
Due to the high process temperatures, the energy demand is comparatively high. However, by using heat recovery systems, a large portion of the energy can be recovered and the energy efficiency of the plant significantly improved.
Our TNV systems are available with either electric or gas heating, depending on the application, and can be individually adapted to the respective process requirements.
